Being able to carry out interactive activities and presentations has become a necessity and one of the practices most used by teachers since it helps students to get the most out of their learning experiences. This strategy is used to grow participation, increase the retention rate, and generate more motivation for learning.
In today's blog, we will learn how to add interactivity to educational content in 3 different ways within the LearnAla e-learning platform.
Step 1: First we sign in on the platform with our username and password.
Step 2: Enter courses, and choose “created courses”. To learn how to create a course from scratch, click here.
Step 3: Choose sections and click on “create a new section”.
Step 4: Click on “create activity”, the menu is displayed nine types of activities: Text, files, videos, audios, link exams, create forums, interactive presentations, and embed code.
We will show you how to use 3 of these tools: Audio, embed code, and how to link interactive presentations.
Interactive Activity #1: Audio / Voice Notes
This option gives us the possibility to upload an audio file or add an available URL link that comes from SoundCloud, MixCloud, or Spotify.
Step 5: We click on create a new section and select the audio activity.
Step 6: We add a title, and description and choose our preferred option, upload a file from our computer or add an audio URL link.
Its purpose is to help reading comprehension. While the student is listening and learning, they can answer questions or do activities embedded within the same section.
Interactive Activity #2: Embed Code
It’s a supporting feature that allows external applications or interactive content to be added and used within the same e-learning platform. It is necessary to have an external activity prepared, it can be Kahoot, Quizlet, Quizizz, Genially, Mentimeter, or the activity of preference.
Step 7: Copy the URL of the external activity.
Step 8: Enter the e-learning platform LearnAla and click on create a new section.
Step 9: Select the activity embed.
Step 10: Add the title, and description and paste the URL of the website that we want to use.
The activity will be automatically reflected within the section. Students will be able to carry out the activities within the section, without having to open or exit the platform.
Interactive Activity #3: Interactive Presentations
It’s a creative space that allows users to create presentations, tables, graphs, or surveys easily and simply. Its creator allows users to develop professional content.
For the presentations to be within a course or a workshop, it is necessary to link the presentation to a new activity.
Step 11: Click on create a new section and select the interactive presentations activity.
Step 12: Add title, and description and choose the interactive presentation previously made within the platform.
Adding the presentations within the sections helps students to locate them more quickly and assists teachers to have order within the classes or courses.
With LearnAla all teachers will be able to create, organize and manage their activities in one place more effectively and efficiently.
